(OOC: Stupid title, bad parody, I know. But hey, The Pokémon Company does it, too. ) After just about thirty minutes, all sunlight had been extinguished, or at least hidden from view by the neighbouring trees. Jessica was barely awake, that was, until she heard the sound of ocean waves. "...Huh?" She said. "There's a shore here, too. But it's not too hard to get past. There's a network of bridges." Atticus explained, pointing out to the now somewgat visible ocean and, obviously, bridges. There was dim lighting all along it, provided by small hanging lamps that swayed in the ocean breeze. They had plastic casings, used to protect the bulbs from the harsh (well, harsh to the bulbs) conditions. The group continued on, and made their way through the remainder of Route 11, then the bridge network of Route 12. Finally, scarce lighting came about on the horizon, signifying Lavender Town's presence. It seemed to give off an aura of sorts, the kind one gets when going to a graveyard. It sent shivers down Jessica's spine, at least, one unlike the ones she had been getting from the nightly ocean breeze. A tower of sorts loomed over the town, noticeable only by dim lighting much like the bridges', and the town as a whole. However, its features were not distinguishable. "Hmmm... I heard that Goldenrod was expanding its radio network to Kanto, here in Lavender... but I wonder... Is that it? I didn't hear much about it, really. All I know is that it was planned, and that Lavender's Pokémon Tower was to be torn down for it." Jessica explained. She squinted, trying to make out an antenna of sorts, perhaps a satellite dish, but it was far too dark...

Cairo peered ahead through fairly thick darkness, only a dim light proving any solace from the somewhat difficult situation. "Wha-" He uttered before his balance was lost for a moment, sending him from his feet to Alison's quick arms. "What was it?" His girlfriend asked in response, "I...I don't-" He began before the group's eyes grew wide and took to their periphery, which offered a dull, pallid figure darting back and forth and emitting what sounded something like laughter. They trembled slightly, and stood still as one by one more of the figures began appearing, some larger, some smaller but all with an aura that begeted trepidation.
Cairo's quivering hand made its way slowly but surely to his Pokebelt, where from it he tore a minimized ball, which remained in that state for only seconds prior to its being in the air. "Gengar!" Cairo ordered as the ball exploded into brilliant white light that's sparkles illuminated the frighteningly dark area for a moment. Gengar appeared, and began looking around while the figures and all noise suddenly stopped. The sound of waves lapsing the shoreline remained the only prominent sound before Gengar broke the silence with a deep breath, before bellowing out intense laughter, so dark, so intimidating that even Cairo shuddered slightly. One by one the figures dissipated, or flew off swiftly just as Gengar ceased his chortling. The purple Pok?mon turned its head to Cairo where its eyes sealed, and an even more immense grimace engulfed his face. Cairo's shaken composure left with a sigh before he strode to his Pok?mon and caressed its head, "Nice work, Gengar" he told his Pok?mon.

Jessica, while it made her nervous to do so (seeing another of the creatures would surely intimidate her further), quickly surveyed the entire area circling her. "That was... creepy. Sorry for a lack of a better description, but..." Jessica started, but kept herself from rambling on. She did finish up, however, to make it not seem as if she were about to speak more nonsense. "A-anyways, thanks, Gengar. And of course, you too, Cairo." She said, voice near broken, she hadn't yet recovered from the fright the ghostly creatures gave her. She had since moved closer to Atticus, giving him a look that, despite the darkness, simply begged for comfort. He wrapped an arm round her shoulders, and pointed to the dimly lit town. "So, er, onward to town?" He asked, nods from the group answered him 'Yes.'
Lavender Town had a strange feeling to it. Not quite as bad as the feeling barely preceding the town, but still enough to send chills down the spine. 'Perhaps it's the night and dim lighting? No, it couldn't be... This town, it seems... occupied. And busy. But not a soul, or rather, living one, is awake. I'm not exactly having the best feeling about this place...' Jessica thought to herself, a few words mouthed and a couple barely audible whispers. Soon enough, they were walking by the large tower. No satellites were there... At least, visibly. Jessica hardly payed that much mind, however, due to the overly eerie aura the entire area was swamped in. "So then, er, where to you suppose we ought to..." Jessica gulped, it wasn't exactly an appealing thought at the moment. "...stay?"
OOC: I really oughtn't post this late... Anyways, I think the Pokémon Tower would be more thrilling than the Radio Tower, non? But if anyone else prefers otherwise, I don't mind at all! =D

Cairo's shoes were spattered with mud from the dampened ground of the eerie town. He progressed nonetheless, but something again clouded his mind. Something he thought the Kanto region would surely alleviate, and it had for quite some time...but. "Ugh" he sounded audibly, not necessarily intentionally. "You okay?" He recieved from Atticus who was already attesting to a rather frightened Jessica. He stalled in the thought for a moment before shaking his head and returning himself to reality, "Uh, yeah, thanks" he managed before pressing on.
Cairo's eyes were set to the town, but his mind was elsewhere. It didn't occur to him any more than Alison wanted much to do with him, not that she hated him by any means, more that she needed something; she didn't seem to have the time for him anymore. He looked ahead to his Pok?mon, who was coincidentally staring back nodding to him after Cairo offered a look of beffuddlement. "Mm" He muttered before nodding back, "You guys" Cairo said, finding heat swelling in throat, and finding it difficult to talk through everything that wanted to hold him back. The muddy land shifted beneath his feet that ceased motion, "Mm?" Alison asked before Cairo's glazed eyes looked away from her, "I'm done" he said, dropping his own heart off with the last utterance. "What?" Atticus asked, shuddering slightly, "I'm done with this, I have um...Priorites on my journey right now, I... can't keep going in our direction." He answered as well as he could through welling eyes. Alison looked to him in what looked like disbelief before rushing to him and throwing her arms around him, "What are...are you talking about, Cairo?" She asked. "I..." he began once more. He couldn't let her change his mind; this was for her after all. "I'm going to leave now.." He said turning back his head and pinch the lids of his eyes together tightly as he breathed heavily.
He turned his head back to Alison, finding means of opening his eyes in squints, with brows raised slightly, forcing a smile. "I will always love you, unconditionally, immensly. But I need you to be happy" he managed before wiping a tear from her face, raising an arm between their embraced bodies. "You have meant more to me than anyone in my life for a longer time than I can recollect" he began as that same hand made its way back around his friend, "You will be with me everywhere I go, for the rest of my life, Ali" he told her, intending every word to be taken legitimately. He utilized a hand to rummage through his pocket before he revealed what looked like a small heart, "This is um..my Mind badge, from Hoenn. It was always my favorite so I keep it with me.." he said before raising both arms, releasing Alison for a moment. In a second, and with a small crack, the badge was snapped in two halves by Cairo, "Here" he offered, hand extended with one half of the heart in his hand. Alison looked to him for a moment before sniffling, and taking the badge half lightly from his hand. Cairo slid his half back into his pocket, before he embraced her once more. Starlight had always been the best illumination for them, from looking to it outside Pok?mon centers whent hey couldn't sleep, to looking to it before giant Vaporeon attacks. Before team rocket invasions, during night time balls, sustaining them through the endless interruptions of Dani Hopper. Before take off on salamence, from three different regions. Everything.
"I love you" he offered before kissing her lips one last time, softly, quickly. He released her, trembling slightly, prior to his looking to a contained but understandable upset Attics, then to Jessica, his other best friend in the world who too was holding back tears. He approached Atticus, and embraced him, "thank you for being there for us. Taking us in, being our proverbial Chad when we'd lost him. Thank you, Atticus" he offered. Atticus nodded and began speaking before a trembling breath overcame him for a second. He cleared his throat and posited the phrase, "No problem, Cairo. Thank you, for wanting me to be your proverbial Chad. For everything" Cairo nodded and smiled, quivering slightly before he hugged his friend once more. And then finally he took to Jessica.
"You" he said before she laughed slightly through tears and sporadic breaths, then jogged into an embrace with him. "I love you, Jessica. You have always been there when my girlfriend hasn't, when Chad abandoned us, and when times were harder for you than any of us" he told her, "thank you for going to the beach that day when we found you" he said as fog accumulated at their feet. He kissed her cheek softly before releasing her, "Thank you all" he said once more before he turned his back, along with the spiked back of a purple ghost-type whose love for honey had really started it all.
"Wait, Cairo" Jessica exclaimed as he grew more distant, but stopped and turned to see his friend.
((OOC: Sorry if the end is wrong there, I was under the impression we were keeping Jessica and Cairo and that they would move on together but I can always edit the post too))

A quick dash landed Jessica just before Cairo, allowing her a better position to speak. She gathered her breath, trying to think up her whole explanation at once. Seeing how that was too hard, and may come across insincere, she simply spoke from the tip of her brai--, er, heart.
"Cairo... I'm not about to stop being there... for you. I wouldn't stop now, and in all honesty, couldn't." She took another breath. "You've given me so much, and not just material possessions. I couldn't've ever won a single Gym match had it not been for your support, my appeals have gotten much better, and many breakthroughs in my, if you can call it this, research. Everytime any of that was successful, you were there." By now, Jessica's body was slightly shaking. Not from the cold or uncomfortable aura, but from her overflow of emotions. "So no, I won't stay behind. Kanto... it's nice, but just doesn't fulfill me. But you do."
Realising Atticus had probably heard the whole thing, Jessica felt rude. Clearly, she had to fix that. She ran the somewhat short distance to him, grabbed him tight into an embrace, and kissed him with all the meaning she could muster. He held her to, returning the kiss, but seemingly as unstable as she was. "Don't worry. I still love you, and quite a lot, but... I have to go. Kanto's just not right for me." She said, relinquishing the kiss but retaining her grip on him. "W-why?" Atticus asked, barely restraining his own emotions so he could speak. "I really don't know. But it is certain, I need Cairo, and I need out of Kanto." She kissed him again, and released her grip. She was realising how ridiculous she sounded, Johto, her home, was land-locked with the 'not right for her' Kanto. But it was true. And she knew that this was a now or never situation. "I love you, and I'll miss you." She said, unable to withhold her tears any longer. Her face, while not very visible, was nearly entirely drenched.
Finally, Jessica turned to Alison, who was clearly upset about the whole deal as well. "Alison, thank you. You've been great. You're very talented, very inspiring. And kind, too, which is always a nice thing." Jessica forced a smile. "And with your talent, I'd better hear you've won the competition in Celadon." She said, trying to ease everyone's tension. It was awkward at first, but Alison soon forced a smile of her own. "Th-thanks." She said, and nodded. "H-hey! I'm, uh, entering too!" Atticus claimed, either following Jessica's tension-breaking lead, or genuinely jealous. The latter, however, was proven false when Atticus broke into a smile, and almost laughed. "Heh, Atticus, you'll do well. As long as it doesn't require your aim." Jessica forced a laugh, and hugged him again. "Pff." Atticus sighed, hugging back, but soon releasing. "Well, to the both of you, good-bye. It's been very good." Jessica finished up, bowing somewhat. She tried to remain strong, but it was no longer possible. Her tears began pouring again.
"B-bye!" Jessica exclaimed after a couple silent moments, waving quickly, and breaking into a dash towards Cairo. "S-sorry for the h-hold up." She said, voice broken and occasionally interrupted by a sniffle. "I-it's perfectly fine." Cairo assured her, and despite his own emotional status, he maintained his generally comforting words. Jessica heavily sighed, and looked back to her quite possibly dumbfounded friends. They were somewhat blurry, but hard to see anyways. This could quite possibly be the last she saw of them. She was suddenly stricken by a dire fact: she had not given either of them a memento... Not that she really had much to give, but it would've been nice. 'Too late now...' Jessica thought to herself, inadvertantly whispering it as well. "Huh?" Cairo said, turning to look at her. "Oh, it's uh, nothing." Jessica said. She supposed the memories were good enough... they were for her.
It took a good, long while, and some near-silent walking, but Jessica finally felt comfortable to make a small joke. Her humour was always odd, hopefully Cairo understood this. But, with him being him, she could tell he did. "Oh, and Cairo..." Jessica started. "Yeah?" Cairo asked, almost expectant. "You couldn't have left without me." She paused, and whipped something from hammerspace. She held it so whatever light around them would be reflected so he could see it as a PokéBall. "I'm your ride." She forced a laugh, hoping that despite the circumstances, he could get a chuckle out of it too.
OOC: I'm so cliched. XD And I can make up a bunch of nonsense! Anyway, sorry for heavy autoing.

Atticus took a deep breath which he held a few seconds before releasing it. "Alison," He said, turning to his friend who was crying softly. She looked up, her eyes red and teary. "I guess it's time for me to take my leave." Alison nodded. Atticus walked over and hugged her awkwardly, they hadn't exactly had a close releationship but he figured he should hug her anyways. "Goodbye, Alison," Atticus said, relinquishing the hug, smiling, and waving goodbye as he walked away.
"Where will you go?" Alison asked, her voice wavey. Atticus took another deep breath. He didn't really know where he was going to go. He reached down to his PokeBelt, grabbed a miniature PokeBall and expanded it. Atticus aimed the ball towards the ground, muttered something and watched as translucent crimson light shot from the center button. The light hovered above the ground for a minute, almost as if it were confused by its surrounding, before it finally grew larger and solid and soon took the form of Metagross.
"I hear Snowpoint's nice this time of year," Atticus joked, climbing aboard his Pok?mon, who was waiting for him loyally. "Goodbye, Alison." He repeated. Metagross tucked in his legs. Atticus held on tight.
"Grossssss!" Metagross grunted, flying fast and low, just the way he liked it, before making a sudden upward turn and almost losing his passenger. "I think," Atticus muttered to Metagross who couldn't even hear, "I think Sinnoh needs a new coordinator." In a flash of red another Pok?mon appeared and started to fly alongside Metagross. "What do you think, Togetic?"
