Despite being indoors, the Rift Stadium can be subject to weather effects. The default is "Normal," with no affect on the battle. This can be changed by Hazards, Items, and Abilities. By default, all weather changes last five turns, and only one weather effect may be in play at a time. In addition to the effects listed, some abilities may be affected by the weather in ways not specified here.
Weather: Clear Skies
Description: A glowing sphere appears in the ceiling, producing strong sunlight.
Effect: All Fire-type attacks do 50% more damage and all Water-type attacks do half damage.
Weather: Rain Storm
Description: Dark clouds form at the ceiling, producing rain.
Effect: All Water-type attacks do 50% more damage and all Fire-type attacks do half damage.
Weather: Hail Storm
Description: Dark clouds form at the ceiling, producing hail stones.
Effect: Everyone not aligned to the Ice-type take damage equal to 10% of their maximum HP each round.
Weather: Sandstorm
Description: The wind picks up, blowing sand everywhere.
Effect: Everyone not aligned to the Ground, Rock, or Steel type take damage equal to 10% their of their maximum HP each round, and the Special Defense of everyone aligned to the Rock-type is increased 50%.
Weather: Fog
Description: The arena is shrouded in a veil of mist.
Effect: Everyone's Accuracy drops one stage.
Weather: Chaos Leak
Description: The fields around the Stadium that keep the Rift's chaos at bay wear down, causing strange effects all around.
Effect: Everyone is subject to one Wyld Surge per action each round, and the Hazard Rate increases to once per round if it isn't there already.
