((OOC: For the record, what is explained in this thread is what happened to Dani Hopper in the time period post-her father's demise, and prior to her entrance back into the world of training. Thus, everything explained here is to be interpreted as true to her life, and will alter her character))
Dani Hopper sobbed heavily on top of a Beedrill that was having trouble enough maintaining aerial balance without Dani's writhing about. Despite her being a hindrance to that, Beedrill offered what it could, condolences via a strong emotion and stare. It took its eyes off of the clear sky before him and stared endearingly and sympathetically at a broken Dani, with glossy red eyes. Dani stared back for a moment, squinting in the midst of the breeze, before she sniffled and smiled, "ha..th-thanks Beedrill.." she said before she kissed it atop its head. Beedrill turned a calm face back toward the direction ahead of him, only to find a familiar Pok?mon in its path. Beedrill buzzed loudly as it dodged the swift Masquerain in its path, nearly throwing Dani from its back. "Ack!" Dani exclaimed as held onto Beedrill, dangling below him. "Beedrill, lift me back up!" Beedrill quickly obliged and rotated itself, throwing Dani atop its back to strattle it once more. "Phew.." Dani said as she regained her position on the yellow and black striped Pok?mon.
"A Masquerain...could that be..." Dani began before an immense noise sounded below her. The sound of a large fog horn startled Dani as she peered down to the sea to find a large ferry carrying hundreds of onlooking passengers. Dani nervously waved as she inspected the mass of people for a familiar face. It was then that she saw him. Kale Whitter.
Masquerain doubled back and a breeze rushed by Dani, practically coaxing her into a descent, following the blue moth-esque Pok?mon. "Thank you Masquerain" Kale told the Pok?mon politely as it landed atop his head. "Eas-ah- Easy Beedrill" Dani told the Pok?mon as it finally came to hovering above the deck of the ship, where the five foot girl jumped to. "Nice job Beedrill, thank you" Dani said as she drew and expanded a pokeball before a red beam whipped at the bug type, returning it to its Pokeball. Dani jogged over to Kale, where she promptly embraced him. "Dani, is everything alright?" Kale inquired as he patted the girl, who he essentially saw as his daughter, on the back. A silent tear careened down Dani's cheek as she looked up to Kale. "Mr. Whitter..." She began as she turned her back to him. She wiped her face and looked to the locomoting sky above, for a moment she stared blankly, breathing heavily and Kale feared the worst. "Did you...not find him?" Kale inquired assuming Oliver Hopper had been dead before Dani had ever reached Orre. "No...We did.." She informed him, at her own pace. "Right after we found him...Team Sangem or...or Cipher I don't know but...they..." she attempted to express what happened via articulation, but she could get nothing out but wimpers. "You saw your father di-....my God, I'm...I'm so sorry Dani" Kale said as he looked on in awe at the broken adolescent. "Dani..I don't know how to.." he began, unknowing of how to express his condolences, "Well, let's get you home then, no point in continuing to Orre on this ferry" he informed Dani.
A woman approached the two of them, she donned long, lighter brown hair and was of medium height. "April, Oliver is..." Mr. Whitter began, "I know Kale" she said as she drew and expanded a Pokeball before walking to the edge of the ship. "Lapras" April called as a flash of white light lashed the ocean, resulting in sparatic waves and a proud looking water-type emerging. "Alright then..back to Oldale" Kale said as all three of them leapt from the side of the ship, air rushing past them before they landed on a stable Lapras. "Let's go home" April told Lapras as it confirmed with a screech, and leapt into a swift swim in the opposite direction, battling small waves and currents as they approached a slowly dissipating horizon.

Soft waves, and shallow water eventually meant Lapras' arrival on shore. Wet sand covered the bottom of the water-type as it turned its head towards its trainer. "Thank you Lapras" April told her Pok?mon affectionately. Kale, April and Dani wasted no time in making their way to Oldale town, traversing a short woodland distance before several illuminated windows shone through the foliage. "Oldale" Dani announced as she sighed, and they made their way through the last of the forest, echoing with varying cries of varying Pok?mon. Dani stepped onto the moist, but maintained grass of Oldale before she turned to Kale and April. What was essentially a silhouette and two glistening eyes told them, "Thank you for everything Mr. and Mrs. Wh...oh sorry..Mr. Whitter and...Ms. Lawrence.." They sighed and smiled before April put an outstreched hand Dani's shoulder. "Keep in touch Dani, let me know how everything goes with your mother" She said, knowing she would be in Johto again by tomorrow. "Will do" Dani responded before nodding slightly and turning into a sprint toward her house.
"April.." Kale began before being silenced. "Kale..I didn't come here to......this isn't about us" The seemingly naive woman denounced. "And to think for a second I thought you were capable of more than a vitriolic diatribe, April.." He retorted defensively. "Good-bye Kale" April said with affirmation before striding off into the distance. Kale sank his head for a moment, the only sounds looming were the lullabies of the surrounding Kricketot. He eventually sighed and went toward a house, expectant, but to no avail, as he entered the doors to an ever lonelier home.
Dani opened the small, inexpensive doors. They were the sort that tried to mislead you, tried to get you to assume they were something expensive, they were simple wood though. Hardly extravagent. "Mom?" Dani inquired before taking the turn into the kitchen where her mother sat, eating alone. "Dani!" She said, having to clear her throat of misguided soup as she ascended to her feet, dropping her spoon to the ground. She ran to her daughter and embraced her before kissing her repeatedly on the head. "Danielle Hopper, I was so worried..." She said as she continued the overly affectionate mannerisms. "Where's your father?" she asked, post calming slightly. She looked to Dani with optimism, and expectancy, only to be met with devastating, petrifying silence.
The silence in the room fell so heavily that Mrs. Hopper's tears fell to the ground and sounded prominently. "I'm..I'm sorry mom" Dani said as she tried vigourously to rid herself of the abundance of liquid accumulating on her cheeks. Silence was still dominant in the home's air, until finally Dani made the decision to explain what had happened. It took all of about an hour to express everything fully, and by the end of it her mother and herself had achieved speaking terms once more. "You saw him die, Dani.." Mrs. Hopper began, "You're..." she breathed heavily, trying to contain her keening. "You're so strong, Dani" Mrs. Hopper proceeded to appercieve her daughter's hand, leaving trails of moisture from the constant wiping away of her tears. "I'm so sorry mom..." Dani responded. Her mother went on to explain how nothing was her fault, she assured her feasibly a hundred times before Dani finally took to her bedroom upstairs.
The door closed quietly, before Dani removed her clothes and proceeded to twist the nozzle directly below the showerhead until it could no longer twist in the counter-clockwise direction. She stepped in, and jumped slightly given the heat, but eventually the steam shrouded everything and her body became used to the temperature. Her head hung low, water trickled into her sobbing eyes as she wrapped her arms around herself, trying to contain her lamentatious emotions, as she could hear her mother's mourning even over the rushing of the water spilling from the showerhead. She finished after a lengthy process and brushed her teeth before putting on pajamas, decorated with jumping, blissful looking Skitty. She curled up beneath her blankets, clutching her comforter tightly as she looked to her window. She half-expected to see Cairo come crawling through to console her. She knew how unrealistic it was, she just kept trying to tell herself it wasn't. She sighed, and finally gave up trying to contain her tears. "I...I love you Cairo.." She whispered softly to herself, knowing that his verbose, but comprehensible all the same, notions and words were all that could comfort her now.
She was startled when a smaller green Pok?mon jumped from below her range of sight, up on to her bed. "Ah!" she cried lightly before she jumped, but realized Ivysaur had simply allowed itself out of its Pokeball. She almost felt embarassed, as she was well aware that unless Ivysaur sensed something wrong with Dani, it would never do something like that without its trainer's consent. Ivysaur came up to Dani and began to caress her lightly, before it curled its body and fell asleep next to Dani as night progressed.

Dani woke up to the sound of an alarm clark sounding. It was Phanphy shaped and hollered loudly, just as Dani had set it to, to ensure her awakening. "Ah" she yelped slightly as she sat upright very quickly, sending Ivysaur from her bed to the ground. "Oh gosh!" she said as she quickly put her hands on the side of her mattress and peered down to the ground. "Ivysaur, are you okay?!" she said, giggling slightly. "Saur" it said as it got itself to its feet and shook itself. "Iv-y!" it exclaimed with a smile as it bobbed its head left and right before Dani leaned down and wrapped her hands around the Pok?mon and brought it up to her lap. At this point, the Phanphy alarm was still sounding, loud as ever, thus, Dani turned herself around and reached for the it. She placed a firm finger down on its trunk, and upon it springing back up, the alarm was silenced.
Dani proceeded to enter the bathroom, where she she brushed her teeth and hair. She winced slightly as she relinquished several knots in her hair before she detailed her face with some make-up, sparsely, until she was satisfied with what she deemed as apt aesthetic appearance. She sighed as she left the bathroom, sounds shifting as her feet met with carpet from tile. She made her way to her drawers, which post-examining, revealed her normal attire. She removed her night clothes and promptly replaced them with a red sweater that donned a generic, white, half-pokeball emblem along the bottom left corner of the sweater. It was small, but indefinitely evident. Her sweater was then accompanied by a simple pair of straight leg jeans, and argyle socks. She was dressed, and she sat down on her bed, head hung slightly, before Ivysaur jumped up to the bed and into her arms, knocking her backward. She stayed laying down, her arms wrapped around a blissful Ivysaur as she smiled for the first time since her father's demise. "Ha...thank you for everything Ivysaur" She said as she tilted her head backward so that she could see her bureau, upside-down, but her Pokebelt was still prominent atop the wooden structure. She grabbed it and secured to her waist, after shifting her position. She was upright again, and she smiled as she removed an empty ball from her belt. She smiled, "return" she said as she held the ball, some five inches above and Ivysaur who was sitting in her lap. Ivysaur turned translucent red upon being hit with a beam, before being returned to a sojourn in its Pokeball. She reattached the ball and stood. She sighed, and strode towards the door out of her room.
Dani closed the door with care behind her, so that she wouldn't wake her mother. She descended the staircase quickly, and upon turning into the kitchen, so as to make her way to the door out of the house, she saw her mother asleep, head in arms as. She quickly stopped herself, and she stumbled slightly, she covered her hands with her mouth as her hair swayed forward from the prompt stop. It was enough however to wake her mother, who awoke, surprised enough to stumble backward and knock the glass of water that had been next to her to the ground. "Dani! My goodness, ha, you startled me, sweetie" her mother told her, wiping tears from her face. "Is everything alright dear?" She asked her daughter, "Umm..I'm...I'm leaving mom.." Dani said as she looked into her mother's sullen, lonely, eyes. Silence engulfed the room before her mother nodded, evidently covering up an abundance of distraught emotion. "Mm.." was all she could muster before she smiled assuringly. "I love you mom, stay strong, I'll be back" Dani assured her mother. Her mother said nothing for a moment, before Dani made the decision to head toward the door. She turned toward it, her back at her mother before Mrs. Hopper exclaimed, "Dani" Dani looked back in question, "you had better be careful Danielle" she said, sternly but lovingly. A moment of silence passed before Dani smiled and nodded. Dani looked at her mother, noting her lonely aura, she was under extreme duress, she needed companionship. "Here!" Dani said excitedly as she extended both her hands, containing a Pokeball, glistening with a gloss, traversing its red top by allowance of the lights overhead. "D-...Dani, I could nev-" Mrs. Hopper was cut off when Dani said, "Mom, this is Blissey" as she drew back her hands, only for means of releasing the pink, human-sized Pok?mon. "Bliss!" It exclaimed happily as it looked at Mrs. Hopper. "She'll stay with you until I get back" Dani told her mother, unacceptant of alternate reasoning. A moment of hesitation ensued, but Dani convinced her. The two Hopper women embraced and offered each other a few kind words before Dani turned towards the door. The knob turned, and the light shining in it, whirled as the knob turned clockwise. The door opened, and a spill of ambient light flooded the room. A silhouette of her daughter left Mrs. Hopper's eyes as Blissey came to her side and offered a comforting arm.
Dani outstretched her arms and looked to the sky for a moment before sighing. She then brought herself into a swift stride onto the nearest route, towards the nearest ferry out of Hoenn.

She walked along the route for what seemed like hours until finally, the shore was in sight. "My ferry" She said softly from atop a ledge that if walked off, would be a vertical downfall some 200 feet. "Well, still need to get down.." She thought of the quickest way down the ledge, and she the notion of using her Pok?mon was, naturally, the first idea that came to mind. She smiled and drew a Pokeball. She brought the expanded ball in front of her, glistening in the morning light as it lay dormant in Dani's hand. Dani took a deep breath of cool air before commanding the release of one of her Pok?mon, "go Hypno!"
The ball flew above her and for a second became nothing more than a glistening speck among the vast, clear firmament. It fell back to the ground along side a flash of white light . The ball was caught by Dani with the synonomous collision of light to ground, and Hypno's forming. She smiled and said, "Hypno, use psychic and get me down this ledge, pleeeease" Hypno nodded, and as soon as it was asked of him, he began swinging his pendulum back and forth, in a quasi-mesmerizing manner. His eyes quickly began to glow a powerful, deep blue, and gave off a smoggy aura as a similar, colorful smog outlined Dani, giving Hypno control of her movements. She turned her head back and forth, examining herself before her feet were lifted from the ground. Dani squeaked slightly as she was lifted, before laughing in light of the frightened utterance she had just issued. She smiled, and poised herself for landing as she made the slow, but sure descent towards the sand of the beach. No more than a moment passed before Dani's feet touched down to the sand, right followed by left. She sighed out of relaxation as she touched down and the blue aura around her dissipated. "Thanks Hypno!" she said as she turned herself around, so as to face the cliff Hypno stood atop. She looked straight up and smiled, as she readied Hypno's pokeball. "Ok, buddy, return!" She said as she raised the Pokeball and a red beam shot straight upward, sights targeting the Psychic type. However, just before the beam reached Hypno, the Pok?mon was sent flying off of the cliff face by a large, territorial Pok?mon. "Hypno!" She cried as Hypno shot off the cliff face and began a steady descent, "Return!" she cried quickly, aiming at the falling Pok?mon. The red beam, accomapnied by a familiar sound, shot quickly and snatched Hypno from the air, returning him, before Dani turned around to face the cliff again, only to be met with an attacking Pok?mon. "Ah!" She exclaimed as she leapt out of the way of a devastating tackle. Dani jumped and fell to the ground, head in the sand, and hands locked atop her head, in a fetalesque position. The large Pok?mon, no more than five feet from Dani stopped itself from hitting the ground by batting its immense wings. It still hit the ground with its feet, simply less hard than it intended. A mass of sand was sent upward in waves around them, accomapied by a stong gust of wind caused by the flying-type's wings. It roared triumphantly before it began to lunge again, Dani ascended quickly, but to no avail as the gust that entailed from the Pok?mon's wings lifted the lightweight girl to the air, and sent her flying several feet. "Ahh!" Dani cried before she drew a Pokeball. She had been flying headfirst, but repositioned her body, mid-air, so that her backside would take the force of the fall. She landed hard on her bottom and lower back. Her hair and loose parts of her clothing were ruffling rapidly because of the winds, but the Pokeball she had been brandishing released directly ahead of her, Jumpluff, in a flash of white light amongst the small scale sand storm.
"Hyperbeam!" Dani called as the small, blue, Pok?mon who had just materialized fired a powerful, rainbow colored beam straight in front of it into the triumphantly roaring face of the foe Pok?mon, "Rooahhh!" the Pok?mon called as its body lashed the ground, the sand below it erupting in waves. "Stun Spore!" Dani ordered as she stood. Jumpluff took a deep breath and inflated itself before releasing the englufed air along, with a cloud of yellow spores that landed atop a grounded flying-type. As the spores fell atop it, small sparks emerged and erupted all over the Pok?mon's body, sending it into intense paralysis.
"Easy enough.." Dani said as she neared the Pok?mon and drew her Pok?dex. She aimed it downward toward the Pok?mon and it 'pinged' before offering its recorded entry aloud, "Tropius, the fruit Pok?mon. It flies by flapping its broad leaves. The bunch of fruit that grows around its neck is deliciously sweet. In the spring, it scatters pollen from its neck." Dani smiled before closing the Pok?dex, and slipping it into her pocket. "Its so big, I wonder why it went down so easily.." She asked herself as Jumpluff fell upon the top of her head, and before she noticed additional wounds along Tropius' body. "It must've been fighting before.." She realized, aloud.
A loud horn sounded, causing Dani to face the direction of the loud noise. "My ferry!" She exclaimed, realizing that she was too late because of the battle. She sprinted across a relatively wide beach and to the end of the dock where it the vessel had taken off, "hey, no come back!" She screamed out, hands cupped around her mouth. She stood on the end of the dock for a moment, until she realized she wouldn't be attaining the attention of the Ferry. "No..." She sighed as she fell to her knees on the dock. "Pfff..." she sighed once more as Jumpluff floated around on a gentle zephyr. The sounds of the waves gently lashing the support beams of the dock were all that remained at this point before Dani felt a stronger wind and saw Jumpluff being taken backward by it. Jumpluff giggled slightly as she zoomed back towards the beaten Tropius, Dani turned quickly, and pushed herself upward to her feet with the assistance of her hands. "Jumpluff, get back here!" She called out before she finally reached Jumpluff, who landed atop the nearly unconscious Tropius. "What are you doing?" Dani asked impatiently, but softly so as not to startle Tropius. She looked at Jumpluff questionably before making a decision, though she wasn't enitrely sure herself whether or not Jumpluff initiated the notion.
Her hand went to her Pokebelt where she drew the empty ball that lay dormant in the fourth slot, in place of Blissey's. She pulled it from the belt, and pushed the expansion button before denouncing, "YOU made me miss my ferry. Tropius, YOU'RE taking me out of Hoenn." Dani tossed the Pokeball ahead of her as Jumpluff quickly leapt off of Tropius' body and to Dani's shoulder. The Pokeball hit the Pok?mon and upon bouncing off, opened itself and turned Tropius' mass to nothing more than red light before englulfing it. The ball collected the mass of light, and fell to the ground, closed, but vibrating vigorously and emitting a light, flashing red light from the expansion button of the ball. Sand along the sides of where Tropius' body had been laying began to collect and fill the hole once more, but wasn't enough to cover the Pokeball which ceased its sparatic movements post-three thrusts. "Yes!" She called as she ran down into the shallow imprint of where Tropius had been and raised her Pokeball, "You're mine, Tropius!"
Dani Proceeded to toss the ball in the air and release her newest Pok?mon in a flash of light. Tropius emerged, just as exhausted as it had been before its capture. Dani approached the immobilized Pok?mon, with a small spray bottle in hand, before she began spraying it broadly. "This'll make it better, buddy" she told the Tropius, who tilted its head towards her slightly, eyes glazed over as it had never known sympathy from a human before. A few moments passed and Tropius finally garnered enough strength to stand. With some rustling noises, Tropius stood on all fours, firmly looking down on the short female trainer donning an intimidating glower. A silent moment was palpable in the air before Dani finally half grinned and nervously laughed. The proud Tropius stared down at her for a few moments more before it finally bowed its head and grazed Dani for no more than a second. "Awwww" Dani began before she walked to Tropius and threw her hands around its neck, "Thanks Tropius!" Dani continued to Caress her Pok?mon before finally she explained her plan. "Tropius, I'm going to the Sevii islands..."
