Running back from the lab, Seth now had a Pok?dex and a new starter Pok?mon. Excited, he ran up to find Reagan eating and a flash where Minnie was. He simply sat down, let out his new Piplup, and started strumming, as there was nothing else much to do.

Reagan, who was still gnawing on his garlic bread, commented to Seth, "So, what is it you were in such a hurry for, and why are you so quick to find companions?" Moreover, why do you want to associate with an ill omen? "You have no idea who we are, where we are going, or what our intent is. You should be careful, not everyone in this world has your best interest at heart."

Minnie and Shinx continued to glare at each other.
"If it's going to take another battle to prove my worth, I'll be happy to oblige," Minnie stated.
"Shiinx inx," Shinx said dismissively as he turned away and walked off.
"Alright, then," Minnie said as she followed the Shinx again. "What will it take? Name it. I'll do it."
Shinx paused and looked back at Minnie. "Shinx."
Minnie scrutinized the request. "I guess it would help if I could understand what you just said."

"Hmm?" Seth inquired. "Oh, sorry. Yeah, it's a kind of long story with that," He replied, keeping it at that. He sat down looked down and called Piplup back in.

“That doesn’t change things. Caution is good. Use it whenever something else isn’t more pressing. But, the trip back to Jubilife City is long, and I need to be on my way back.” Reagan stood up, and dusted himself off, towering nearly 6 ft. “Digger, you ready?” Digger shook his whole body obstinately. “Yes, it’s a long way back. You are welcome to come with me, but whether you are safer is questionable.”
“Minnie, you coming my direction?” Reagan called out.

((OOC: I think you meant safe, not safer, just wondering))
Seth heard Reagan's response, and perked up at the sound of it. He didn't want to tell him why he was looking for friends, he felt insecure about telling anybody. He thought of what was that way, and decided to go. "It actually sounds pretty fun," Seth answered. "Mom said I could go wherever I wanted, but just as long as I don't get too banged up. So, yeah, I'll tag along."

“Minnie, you coming my direction?” Reagan called out. "Yeah, I'm coming," Minnie called back, recalling Shinx to his PokeBall. She really wished she knew what to do about that thing. Soon, she came trotting back over to Reagan. Noting Seth, she said, "Wow, that was quick. We're heading for Jubilife, right? I've been meaning to get some Seals for my Pok?Balls."

"Seals?" Seth asked quizzically. "What are those?" He had never heard of such a thing. It sounded so abstract. "But anyway, when are we off?"

"You don't know what Seals are?" Minnie noted. "Well, they're kinda like stickers. You stick them on this capsule, then you put your PokeBall into the capsule, and it changes the effect that occurs when the PokeBall opens. They're pretty popular on the contest circuit."

“So, I’ve heard.” Reagan didn’t like to talk about his last experience with Ball Capsules: one of sister’s lackeys had hit him in the head with a Pokeball that let out such a flash of light that it blinded him.
Reagan started the jog back, blade and buckler both weighing him down. “If you have any Pok?mon who need exercise, the uphill trek will be good for them,” Reagan called out not but a few yards into his trek. Digger obediently followed, his unbeleaguered pace quickly passing up his trainer, though neither paid it any mind.

"Well, I'm sure my Turtwig could use some fresh air," Minnie said as he opened one of her Pok?Balls. Turtwig materialized in a flash of white.
"Turtwig?" Turtwig remarked, tilting his head to the side.
"C'mon, let's go," Minnie said as she took off after Reagan.
"Happiny!" echoed the Happiny on her shoulder.
"Turtwig!" Turtwig declared, following Minnie.

Reagan sighed in relief as they neared Jubilife’s city limits. Almost as if some supernatural force compelled and strengthened him, he stood up straight, suddenly becoming alert from a haggered, wearily gaze. A cold seriousness washed over his form that contrasted sharply with his obviously carefree attitude. His pace slowed, and he stopped; his stare off into nothing.
Digger, the head of the pack stopped, sniffed, and turned back to Reagan as if he two knew something. He trotted back to Reagan and leapt up into Reagan’s arms. Reagan stroked him absently, his brow worried and pensive.

Minnie noticed Reagan stop and stare off into space. Curious, she stopped next to him and looked in the direction he was staring in. Her Turtwig and Happiny, also noticing this development, also tried looking where the two humans were staring. They all stood there, staring, as a stiff breeze blew past them.
After an awkward moment of staring off at nothing in particular, Minnie nudged Reagan with her elbow and asked in a loud whisper, "What are we staring at?"

“Nothing,” Reagan said, “I just came to the realization that I’ll have to face my sister again. In either mental or physical combat. And it doesn’t matter that much which one it is, either.” Reagan suddenly looked down at who he was talking to. “Never mind, don’t worry yourself with such details. Just keep your head down, and your eyes peeled for a while.”
Reagan stepped forward, eventually, slowly, as if unwilling to go any further. At the jar of the first step, Digger jumped down suddenly, perhaps startled by his Trainer’s step or perhaps his actual advancement toward such an unwanted goal.
“Minnie, you were looking for seals?” Reagan said, starting off the now short trek to his Jeep. “Do you want a ride?” He asked, not waiting for a reply to his first, rhetorical question.

"Yeah, sure," Minnie said with a smile. She climbed into the jeep and Turtwig hopped onto her lap. Reagan had mentioned something just a moment ago that she thought was rather striking, but she had held off on asking about it for the moment. Now seemed like a good time, though. "You said mental combat, right? Does that mean you're psychic?"
