After several others in her area were captured by trainers, Taillow began to wonder what it would feel like to have a trainer. Though she didn't much like the looks of the bizarre little balls she had seen others entering and leaving, some of the other aspects she had witnessed seemed to suit her just fine. To no longer have to forage for her own food? A dream! And with a smart human partner to do the thinking for her in battle, she would no longer have to suffer the embarassment caused by a loss... The downside to this plan being that she would have to answer to someone else. But she was certain that if she could just find the right trainer, and convince it to take her with it, she could get used to living the life of a trained pokémon. So, the little Taillow decided to set out to find herself a trainer. For a while, she waited in the grass for a human to come her way so she could challenge it to a battle, but she soon became impatient. She knew that just a short flight away there was a place where humans gathered. She had never been there before - there was no grass and few trees with most of the space being taken up by human-made structures that didn't seem to be of much use. This time, she decided to venture a little closer... Flapping her small wings furiously, she zipped through the busy city. There were so many things she had never seen before! There were humans riding on shiny metal contraptions, while others were eating strange-looking food, but all wore strange materials on their bodies - some were long and flowing, others clung to the humans' frames. Taillow wondered what their purpose was, but eventually decided that the humans needed them for protection to make up for their lack of fur or feathers. Suddenly, she spotted something very strange in her peripheral vision. She turned and hovered just a few feet in front of what appeared to be a familiar-looking taillow. Surprised to see another of her kind alone in the humans' habitat, she flew closer, and the other taillow did the same until...
CRACK!
Picking herself up of the ground, Taillow shook out her feathers hoping that no one had witnessed that. She mentally pecked herself, remembering the lesson she had thought she'd learned from a puddle after one rainy day. Reflections were not real. They couldn't be touched, but it was also impossible to fly through them. Just because it looked as though she could fly through the ground and reach the clouds... Taillow sighed and looked up at the sky, wondering if it might not be safer to return to the field.

"Oh dear...this is gonna hurt..."
Blaze came crashing to the ground. His falling had created a hole in the ground deep. Diglets entered from the side and then went around.
"Ouch." Blaze said flatly. he hopped out of the hole and fell on his rear. Ooo...gotta get my land legs...been in the air too long." He noticed a Taillow looking at the sky. He dicided to ask it for directions.
((The following is in Pok?mon language))
"Excuse me. Could you tell me where I am?" Blaze was wobbling around, oblivious to the many people looking at him, including news crews.

Taillow spun around with a start when she heard a male voice from behind her. A large pokémon, the likes of which she had never seen before stood in front of her. At first glance it looked somewhat like one of the humans, as it had the same basic shape that they did. Most of its feathers were a very pretty red color, and Taillow found herself momentarily distracted by them, wishing hers were similar. Taillow took a deep breath before answering the newcomer's question. In truth, she was a little intimidated, though she wasn't about to admit it.
((In pokémon language)) "I'm sorry, but I don't really know what it's called. I just got here a little while ago, too. Umm... I know that over that way is a field. And there's a cave over there too." Taillow gestures toward the direction from which she had come with her wing.
"I'm not sure if that helps... I'm... not that good with directions." She glanced around and noticed a growing number of humans looking their way. She shifted her weight from foot to foot nervously, taking another deep breath in an effort to hide her discomfort. She did not want to look weak in front of this newcomer.
"U-umm..." Taillow cleared her throat, mentally pecking herself once more for allowing her voice to betray her like that.
"Maybe we should leave here. The humans... It doesn't seem as if..." She swept her wing in the direction of the humans, in an all-encompassing gesture, hoping he would get the message.

Blaze looked around and saw all the humans.
"Oh carp!" Blaze said in human. He covered his beak as everyone gasped. Pok?dex entries activated all over the crowd, stating a Blaziken's common traits.
"Stupid, stupid, stupid! How could I be so careless?" Blaze mumbled, literally punching himself in the beak. Then he turned to Taillow.
((In Pok?mon))
"Since you're just as uncomfortable as I am around humans..."
Blaze picked up Taillow quickly but carefully, jumped over the crowd, and ran off towards the direction Taillow had pointed in.

((In pokémon language)) "A-aah! H-hey!" Taillow's heart beat faster as she found herself being picked up by the other pokémon. She felt her body stiffen but refused to give in to her urge to struggle, however, instead choosing to reflect on this strange new male. She could have sworn she heard him say something that wasn't in their native language. In fact, it had sounded quite stange. He was carrying her in the direction of her home, at least, so if he did turn out to be dangerous she could call for back-up, as humiliating as that would be. She pushed the thought from her mind. She would be fine. She was no longer a weak hatchling - she could handle this!
"What's your name, anyway?" She asked him. She was curious about this humanlike pokémon.

OOC: I don't think you need to say that you're talking in Pok?mon because that's all Taillow can speak. Just saying.
IC: I'm a Blaziken, but most Pok?mon call me Blaze. I lived in the Sinnoh region, an island far away. It's amazing! But some awful Humans called team galactic beat me up," he was ashamed to admit it. "put me in a cannon and shot me here. How they got one that powerful, I'll never know. But I have been fighting them all my life and they finally beat me. I feel awful." Blaze looked at the ground, ashamed.
Looking up, he said, "Hey, do you know where to find some Oran berries? I'm starving."

((Alright... I won't anymore. I had simply been following your lead. ))
"A... Blaziken? Sinnoh? Wow." Taillow had never heard of either before, and she was very intrigued, though a bit embarassed by her own lack of knowledge.
"It's too bad that the humans attacked you, but don't give up! You look really strong, and you said that it was the first time they beat you, right? You'll get them back!" Taillow didn't like to see others looking sad, even if she didn't know them well, so she tried to think of something to cheer Blaze up. Hearing his request she perked up, remembering the berries she had seen earlier that morning.
"Oh... yes! The berries I saw this morning were near the cave I told you about. It's over there, Blaze! I'll get them for you!" Before the other pokémon could answer, Taillow took off in the direction of the cave.

"Thanks, but..." Blaze sped up next to Taillow. "I bet I can get to them first!" He smiled and ran off in front of Taillow.
"Hmm...she's right. If I've beat 'em once I can do it again. That's the kind of pep talk I needed." Blaze thought. Then he noticed a little pink Pok?mon with yellow ears walking across the path and he was headed at it fast.
"Watch out!" Blaze yelled.
The Pok?mon turned, then opened it's mouth with a terrified look on it's face. "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" the pink Pok?mon yelled. The scream echoed throughout the area and it knocked Blaze through a tree.
"Wow," Blaze grunted, rubbing his back. "So that's what a Whismur's Hyper Voice feels like...and sounds like...I can't hear myself." he dug his finger into his ear, trying to clear it of the ringing, but to no avail.

Zeke had been wandering around for some time now and was getting irritated. After being dropped off near Rustboro by the man with the Fearow, he began walking towards the city...at least he thought he was.
"Geez. Why couldn't he drop me off in the city?" Zeke thought aloud. "I payed his fare. Man I could go for a battle right now."
Just then, he heard a great scream. He ran over to where it came from and saw a Blaziken leaning against a tree. It was very tall and the feathers that formed an upside-down V were long. This meant it was quite strong.
"Sweet! I gotta have it." Zeke proclaimed. "Go! Vigoroth!" Vigoroth appeared beside Zeke. It was jumping up and down.
[I'm gonna beat you down, Blaziken]* Vigoroth announced.
"You will not touch me!" Blaze proclaimed.
"WHOA!" Zeke proclaimed. "A talking Blaziken! That's unheard of!"
"Well, now you have. [Taillow! Stay back where you are!]" Blaze then aimed a Fire Punch staright at Vigoroth.
"Vigoroth! Dodge and use Shadow Claw!" Vigoroth jumped out of the way of the Fire Punch while his two claws turned black.
*Taking your advice once more GM. Words put in those are in Pok?mon.

Everything was happening so fast, Taillow barely had time to react! One minute she was happily racing Blaze to the berry plant, delighted to see that he was feeling better about himself. The next thing she knew, a human had appeared out of nowhere to challenge her new friend. She hovered a few feet behind Blaze, watching in awe as his clawed fist seemed to burst into flames. This is so cool! Taillow thought to herself as she observed the battle. In her mind the winner was already decided - there was no way that scrawny-looking thing could beat Blaze! Maybe this challenge would be good for him... there was nothing like a new win to take one's mind off of a previous loss.
[Get'm Blaze! He's no match for you!]

Blaze ducked under the shadow claw and hit Vigoroth in midair with a Roundhouse Blaze Kick. [Thanks, Taillow. You're quite the cheerleader.] He called.
Vigoroth rolled over next to Zeke, it's eyes in an anime swirl. [wow. he's tough] Vigoroth grunted.
"Grrrgh. you'll regret that. Go! Magby!" A Magby burst from it's pokeball and landed next to Zeke.
[I'm ready! Let's do this!] Magby jimped up and down.
"Iron Tail! Let's go!" Zeke ordered. Magby's tail began glowing a shiny grey as Magbyran at Blaze.
Blaze stood, dumbfounded. He didn't want to hurt such a little Pok?mon. He had been so nice to those little Bidoof back home, and he didn't know if he could fight a little Magby, especially one so brave.
The Iron Tail connected and knocked Blaze on his back. He got back up, only to be hit with a Fire Punch in the gut.
For many minutes, Blaze was beat around by Magby and didn't retaliate. After one final Iron Tail, Blaze leaned against a tree, exhausted. Then, Magby began glowing. It got taller and broader until finally, the light disappeared and revealed a Magmar.
"Whoa!" Zeke exclaimed. "Magby...you're a Magmar!"
[Wow! I fought extra hard and I did it! I'm a Magmar!] Magmar cheered. But something was wrong.
A strange, dark orange aura appeared around Blaze. His eyes glowed scarlet and his wrists went aflame, almost taking up his entire arm.
"This must be Blaziken's blaze ability."
"That's right." Blaze stated, his voice sounded much deeper than normal. "That's how I got my name. I get incredibly powerful when I'm in a tight spot. Now, I shall defeat you. You will not lay a hand on me or my friend." Blaze's entire body became covered by fire as he ran at Magmar.
"Oh no! That's Blaziken's Flare Blitz! It's the Volt Tackle of fire attacks! Brace yourself, Magmar!" Zeke called.

[Alright! That was amazing! You're the best, Blaze!] Taillow couldn't help but do a little victory dance in the air as Vigoroth was called back by its trainer. She hoped that someday she could be as tough as he was.
She was snapped back to reality once the trainer sent out Magby. Taillow couldn't believe what she was seeing - Blaze was being kicked around by a pokémon a quarter of his size! He was obviously going easy on it, which was kind of sweet since it was just a baby. But even so, Blaze couldn't afford to lose this battle - if he did, this human would capture him.
It turned out that she needn't have worried at all! The little pokémon evolved after getting several hits in, and now that it was no longer so fragile-looking... Sure enough, Blaze's wrists burst into flame.
[Go, Blaze, go!] She hopped upand shook her wings out in a gesture reminiscent of a cheerleader shaking out pom-poms. This was the most exciting day she had ever had!

[You got it!] Taillow flitted over to Blaze's side. [I'll do my very best!] She declared.
She decided to go after Swinub, leaving the Natu to Blaze. She knew that she was less experienced than her partner, so she thought that she might have better luck against the opponent who seemed more concerned with food than fighting. Taking a deep breath, Taillow tightened all of her muscled, flexing everything that could be flexed. She cleared her mind to focus on one thing and one thing only - victory. She could not allow herself to lose face in front of Blaze.
Because Taillow had very rarely left the outskirts of Rustboro, where she had hatched, she wasn't familiar with many of the pokémon that lived in other areas. Swinub was one such pokémon. Little did she know how much of a disadvantage she was at against the harmless-looking brown creature...
